This is where your bellydance journey begins! Learn foundational technique, including isolations, arm patterns, and steps. This class is for anyone new to bellydance or for dancers who haven’t taken a class in some time and want to brush up on their technique. Each week will focus on a different concept and end with a short combination to put the class content into practice.

Next class will begin early March- stay tuned for more details.
This class is all about hipwork, hipwork, hipwork!! We'll work on classic and modern steps through the lens of the Salimpour formats. Then you will get to apply these steps and isolations to a fun and dramatic choreography that channels your inner diva bellydancer! This class is great for dancers of all styles looking to increase their technical and performance abilities. Be prepared to work hard and then werk even harder on stage. Please bring finger cymbals and a veil. This term we will be doing a veil choreography (veils available for sale at studio).
This term we will focus on understanding the Middle Eastern music that is essential to know for all bellydancers. Each class will also focus on structured improvisation through combinations and concepts to help dancers hone their improvisational technique. The class will work together on a performance concept for the Bedouin Beats show. Students that are interested will also have the opportunity to perform at the spring Exploratorium show hosted by Leslie.
Please bring finger cymbals and a veil.
